CHAPTER 04 / MY LEARNING PATH

The agent
era.

From knowing nothing about AI to building products with agents while I play games. It was not a straight line.

NOT A DEMO

A system I
actually use.

This is Lark responding through Telegram and pausing five scheduled jobs. Small commands like this were the bridge between experimenting with chatbots and building systems that can carry real work.

01

One chatbot

One chatbot

I started with literally no idea how AI worked. The first step was simply talking to a chatbot and wondering what else might be possible.

02

The Midjourney rabbit hole

The Midjourney rabbit hole

Around six to twelve months later I tried Midjourney, got hooked and generated more than 1,000 images. Then I tried turning them into print-on-demand products.

n8n — eventually

n8n — eventually

I found automation, thought it looked incredibly useful… and procrastinated learning it for about eight months. When I finally started, I built small workflows including a Reddit scraper for product research.

04

A quiet half-year

A quiet half-year

Life happened and I lost momentum. The experiments stopped for roughly six months, but the curiosity did not disappear.

05

OpenClaw changed the scale

OpenClaw changed the scale

OpenClaw felt like magic. I spent a week debating the security questions, rented a VPS and then needed more than ten delete-and-reinstall attempts before the setup finally worked.

06

From using agents to shaping them

From using agents to shaping them

Four months later I had tested builder agents including OpenGravity, Grok Build and Claude Code, and was running four OpenClaw agents plus two Hermes agents.

WHAT CAME LATER

Then I designed
a team.

The ten-specialist Hermes system is a later build, not the same setup as the timeline above. I designed it to move from a filmed idea through editing and platform-specific descriptions to Buffer drafts. Its core editing and writing parts worked; the complete end-to-end chain was not fully tested.

GOT SOMETHING IN MIND?

Let’s make
something happen.

A project, an experiment, a “could we build this?”
I’m happy to hear it.
